Choice of Belt
When choosing a conventional conveyor or process belt,
the basic physical characteristics of the material
(tensile strength, thickness, abrasion resistance)
tend to be paramount, because loadings are high (in
practice sometimes excessively so). When employed
in appropriate applications, Biscor coated belts are
mostly far stronger than required to carry safely
the encountered physical loads.
The emphasis therefore more often lies on surface type and quality, resistance to a given chemical, non-stick characteristic (PTFE and Silicone rubber differ in respect of the types of material they repel), or rate of heat transfer, for example. Biscor's technical staff will be happy to assist on the choice of the most suitable materials for any given application.
