Standard Belt Splices

Butt Splice

In the simplest form of butt splice, the ends of the belt, usually cut at 90° are butted together (that is, positioned end to end) and held together by a sealed reinforcing strip, usually on the bottom side of the belt. A reinforcing strip can also be put on the top or bottom. The main problem with this splice is the line of weakness at the butt, but it can be useful for applications requiring minimal marking of the product carried.

Note for belts in high temperature applications. Extra sewn reinforcement on the splice and edges may be required.

Custom and other types of splices are available upon request.
