Hinged Belt Splices
 |
Individual metal hooks, sometimes
refered to as 'clips' are held on a card (typically
300mm long) and installed in the ends of the belt
by a special press. The card is then removed. This
type of splice is often called a 'Clipper®'
joint after the U.S. company of that name.
Because of the thinness of most Biscor materials
the belt end must be reinforced for most type of
hinged fasteners. The reinforcement for metal hooks
and lacing is relatively heavy and is known as 'bullnose'.
