Overlap

The basic overlap splice is shown in the picture opposite. The amount of overlap can be varied. Biscor produces overlaps from 12mm to 50mm as standard. The most common is 25mm. The angle of the overlap can be varied, so that the splice does not run over the conveyor pulleys in one line. 45° and 70° are popular. The strength of the splice is not increased by the length of the overlap. The angle shown is 90°.

Note for belts in high temperature applications. Extra sewn reinforcement on the splice and edges may be required.
