Scarfed Overlap

The belt ends are ground at an angle (scarfed) before overlapping. This removes the step but does not reduce the thickness at the splice. It is extremely effective in many applications (for example, fusing interlinings). It is available at angles other than 90°, typically 70°. Standard overlap length is 25mm.

Note for belts in high temperature applications. Extra sewn reinforcement on the splice and edges may be required.
