Standard Belt Splices
back

Two-Ply Overlap

This type can only be made in two-ply belts and is typically used in small belts to avoid a double thickness at the splice. It is like the butt splice in that there is a line (or rather two lines) of weakness. The individual plies of the belt are butted up to each other and each ply acts as reinforcement for the other. The ends of each ply can be fabricated so as to eliminate the lines of weakness.

Note for belts in high temperature applications. Extra sewn reinforcement on the splice and edges may be required.

Custom and other types of splices are available upon request.
