Striking gold at Glassex 2006

This year’s Glassex was the first ever exhibition for Goldweld.co.uk and in short, it was a resounding success. The show was the main vehicle for the website and brand launch with the target audience being fabricators, welding machine manufacturers and distributors of consumables to PVCu fabrication industries.

Not only did the team sell rolls of Goldweld Teflon® coated welding fabric at the exhibition, numerous internet sales were also made from the stand. Various well known manufacturers of windows, doors and conservatories also showed a keen interest at the show, many of these have converted into sales during the days after the exhibition.

The brand identity of the product was a triumph, with distributors approaching the stand and stating ‘I would like to sell your product’ – which is indeed a super compliment to Liz Baker, Marketing Manager, who implemented the brand, orchestrated all aspects of the ecommerce site, organised and designed all advertising as well as arranging the every component of Goldweld.co.uk’s presence at the exhibition.

Lorraine Redmond, an integral member of the sales team, was the life and soul of the exhibition – with her quick wit and endearing personality, she charmed customers and fellow exhibitors alike. The PIGS (Publicity in Glazing Society) event at Mechu in Birmingham was a particularly memorable evening, the Goldweld.co.uk team enjoyed meeting a vast array of people from the industry, including the highly amusing and entertaining team from Window Industries! It is just hoped that our manic dancing did not disturb people too much…

The hard work continues for the team at Goldweld.co.uk, we must keep up the momentum and build upon the relationships we have formed with customers acquired at Glassex. We look forward to receiving feedback and comments from all customers who have purchased our fabric or taken samples to trial.
